Pioneering hotel design by Philippe Starck

The St Martins Lane London is designed by the World's leading designer in the New Design style, Philippe Starck. The hotel design is a brilliant fusion of influences from the modern to the baroque that suffuses the hotel with energy, vitality and wit. Entered through the tallest revolving doors in London, the St Martins Lane's lobby is a soaring and theatrical space. Starck presents a visually stunning play on scale, with oversized columns and angled niches painted a deep fluorescent yellow, complemented by the Portuguese limestone floors. Gold leaf finished stools that look distinctly like giant molar teeth and an improbably long chaise longue, are just a few of the more whimsical touches. This humour and wit is present throughout the hotel design.

The St Martins Lane rooms and suites are justly famed for their wonderful floor to ceiling windows and at night, bespoke ambient lighting system that allows you to select the colour and thus the mood. As you would expect in such an icon of modern design, all rooms have high-definition TVs, Wi-Fi and contemporary but luxurious beds and furniture.

As with everything about the St Martins Lane, the Asia de Cuba restaurant and Light Bar represent an exciting departure from the traditional 5 star hotel offering. The restaurant fuses Asian and Cuban cuisine served in huge sharing portions. The breath-taking bar is a dynamically lit contemporary space where you can happily pass an evening enjoying the buzz, people watching and sipping delicious cocktails. Thursday to Saturday nights feature top DJs.

A 24-hour gym offers the opportunity to rebalance body and soul after an evening in the Light Bar or Asia de Cuba.

With its inimitable pedigree, St Martins Lane London is becoming an icon of early 21st century 5 star hotel design and offers an exciting and importantly, fun, 5 star option.
